ABOUT ME:

CAI MARLE-GARCIA's The Mr. Ears Project is the new force in modern jazz music. Combining fresh talent with a retro sound, this irresistable group is primed for it's assault on the ears of London and beyond. This is the colourful rebirth of retro jazz-fusion.

Cai Marle-Garcia (ELECTRIC FRETLESS BASS)- 20-year-old 'Mr. Ears' is a self-taught lover of a wide range of music including jazz, soul, funk and rock. The young bassist is blessed with perfect pitch and a phenomenal feel for his and other music. In 2005 Cai performed original compositions at the illustrious Jazz Café in London and thrives on playing with others.

The Mr. Ears Project also currently features...

Daisy Coole (SOPRANO / TENOR SAXOPHONE)- 23-year-old Daisy already has a wealth of playing experience and moves freely between tenor, soprano and flute. Her emotive solos are a strong feature of her performances, bringing truly thoughtful and mesmerising story-telling qualities to her playing. Daisys ear whilst playing is sensational and demonstrates her musical intuitiveness.

Stephen Kite (KEYS)- Stephen has over twenty years of performing to his name and captivates many with his energy, passion and flair on the keys. Stephen has a very rare feel to the music he plays, and can raise or lower the mood in an instant. His playing roots range from jazz to rock, classical and even drum n bass, and its this wealth of knowledge which makes his playing so cultured.

Dan Paton (DRUMS) - Dan's playing roots lie in jazz and rock but his ability pushes him further still. He was once tutored under fusion legend Ian Carr at the famous WAC. Dan's playing roots lie in jazz and rock but his ability and knowledge of many other genres make him a force to be reckoned with.

Magnus Mehta (PERCUSSION) - 28-year-old Magnus is the most recent addition to the group. A professional percussionist for over 7 years, he has developed a speciality in hand drumming in Cuban, Afro Cuban and Middle Eastern styles, and was also a young musician of the year finalist.

What it is to be an artist “This for every man and woman, who’s been blessed as an artist, Stressed by bullshit and impossible targets- But anything is possible as long as you start it, Be it world domination or a patch of the market- My mind takes sabbaticals to random locations, Comes back erratical with some rap inspirations- Don a suite of armour save a beautiful maiden, Slay a dinosaur with the strength of a caveman- We put pencil to paper, turn lead into gold, Spray a melody that will tickle your nose- Or tell a horror story that will turn your blood cold, We have no plateaus we continually grow- Fill a blank page that will live through the ages, Release an idea from the bar of its cages- Growing like an infant in its early stages, Take a step back and say “Did I create this?”

A poet named braver”
