You want one of the front-running events on London’s urban music scene? Well, look no further urbanites, for ILUVLIVE makes a welcome return to the capital for shenanigans a-plenty on the first Monday of every month.
ILUVLIVE’s return follows a hugely successful 2007, playing five city residencies across Blighty’s dense, concrete jungle; all over a not so tee-total of four months. Acts included Plan B, Shola Ama, Ms Dynamite, Sway and Lady Sovereign. Quite something, I’m sure you’ll agree? And a suggestion of how and why ILUVLIVE has blossomed into the beautiful flower handpicked by urban scenesters today.
To mark its fourth successive year, ILUVLIVE kick events off on February the 4th at Market Place, London, with a delectable array of artists set to perform. Singer-songwriter Lee Henry, winner of the 2004 Urban Music Awards, takes to the helm alongside such acts as K9, and the up-and-coming 16 year-old songstress Charlotte O’Conner. Big things are expected of the young lass who’s already turning heads in the music bigwig fraternity.
The self-professed Drum Hitler, D-Boy feat Swiss & V Dubl E, will also be showcasing their talents alongside former open-mic winner Keleigh and The A’Jays. Ras Kwame and bringer of tastier beats than any purple veg found in Jamie Oliver’s garden, Twin B, make-up the list of confirmed artists alongside DJ Wonder on his wheels of steel.
Oh, and of course no ILUVLIVE event would quite be complete without special guest appearances… As if proceedings weren’t sweet as a beet already, right?
