| Layo & Bushwacka! set release date for summer dance hit Celebrare! |
| 25/06/2008 |
![]() Dance-double act Layo & Bushwacka! have remixed the Peter Raeburn classic ‘Celebrare’, the musical score that accompanied the Smirnoff Sea TV advert, one of the most watched on internet site YouTube.
The remix draws on classical elements, including a Bulgarian choir, a New-York based gypsy-punk band, and Scottish renaissance singers; along with melodic Latin vocals, harps, violins, huge double basses, and a deep and heavy bassline, Layo & Bushwacka’s! interpretation of ‘Celebrare’ is one of the most unique dance tracks of the summer.
The track is already taking dancefloors, the world over, by storm, having been road-tested in Miami, Sydney, and of course The End; the club co-owned by Layo where the pair regularly DJ.
As with the Raeburn original the track opens with a string intro, a building bassline added to the mix, before breaking into Raeburn’s euphoric Latin vocal. The usual Layo & Bushwacka! tech-house beats follow a cinematic mix of rising strings and chanting vocals, keeping a balance between Raeburn and co-producer Nick Foster’s original, and the dance-duos own interpretation.
Music producer Raeburn, whose work includes the musical score on Jonathon Glazer's film Sexy Beast, and original co-producer Nick Foster worked closely with Layo & Bushwacka! on the track, due for release on July 14th. ‘Celebrare’ will be available on CD and download formats, including beatport and iTunes. Furthermore, fans will be able to create their own visual interpretations to the music, just like the Smirnoff Sea advert (below), on internet site U-MYX.
