PLANETNOTION TELEVISION!
CAMERA-FOLK AND FILM EDITORS WANTED!
Planet Notion is looking for guys and dolls to film and edit features for its new TV channel, PNTV. Accompanying Notion to artist interviews, gigs, fashion shows, festivals and international events, you will be skilled, passionate and full of ideas about how to produce shit-hot video content. Camera-folk will be experienced and ideally have their own equipment, or at least access to equipment, while editors must be able to turn projects around quickly, and with stylistic flare. If you can both film and edit content, we would especially like to hear from you! These casual, unpaid positions would be ideal for those looking to develop their showreels, and to get the chance to travel, film major artists and top events.

Chew The Fat @ The End

For anyone who’s ever been to a Chew The Fat! night, any mention of life’s larger proportions will provide ample excuse for a cheeky grin and a misty gaze into the ether. With Chew The Fat! nearing its 10th year and happy to hold aloft a proverbial trophy as the longest running breakbeat night on the globe, the growth in number of Fat! enthusiasts shows no abating. Paul Trouble Arnold, he who saw fit to bring Fat! into the world all those years ago, has long held a belief that if you put on a good party, then they will come, and come they did on that Friday.

After Trouble warmed up the proceedings with a taste of Fat! Records releases to come, Arnold’s latest bright young star, Merka, took the helm, handing out his own cheeky brand of nostalgic yet fresh sample-driven beats and subby-breaks, proving that all the fuss about his forthcoming debut album ‘Beserka’ is justified. Lady Waks showed us a glimpse of how they do it in Russia, jeeing the crowd by throwing in bits and vocal bobs over jump-up, party beats. By the time the baton was passed to Meat Katie and his tech-funk cavalcade, the walls were groaning with glee and the timing was on the button for Mr. Pember’s ‘tighter than a gnat’s ass,’ looped-up mixing.  Klaus Hill has surely been working on his ‘Heavyweight’ status while entertaining the folks down-under, and saw fit to knock it up another notch, with a driving set of pure cheeky aggression, leaving resident Kid Blue to mop up the remains of the crowd with a stompy, final set. Pure, party-popping fun, Fat! stylee and no end in sight! Remember to mark a big fat X next to the 13th April for the next one, featuring the return of Freq Nasty, plus an appearance from Fat! artist Baobinga.
